Brett acquired the ranch in 1994 and initially opened it as an RV resort park in 1998. However, this use for the ranch proved not to be the right fit, prompting Brett and the Brett Torino Foundation team to reimagine its purpose. In 1999, they transformed it into Torino Ranch, an idyllic oasis for children with critical illnesses and developmental challenges. This extraordinary retreat now features 16 cabins, 9 cottages, a manmade lake with a sandy beach, an amphitheater, lodge facilities, and even a diesel-powered train that winds through the landscape. These amenities are meticulously designed to offer solace and joy to over 25,000 children who have attended various camps over the years.

Additionally, Torino Ranch serves as a hub for ecological stewardship, supporting beekeeping and fruit harvesting for preserves. It also houses a sanctuary dedicated to butterflies, birds, and endangered animals, contributing to conservation efforts aimed at preventing species extinction.
